Job DescriptionThe Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Cancer Center(MSKCC)is seeking aqualifiedRadiation Oncologistcandidatefor the position ofClinician Investigatorfocusing on the treatmentof breast cancer patients with radiotherapyandconductinginvestigationin thedomain.TheBreast RadiotherapyServicein the Department of Radiation Oncology atMSKCC focuses ontreatingall subtypes of invasive and in situ breast carcinomas in the primary context as well as when these tumors recur in local,regionalandmetastaticcontexts.The service line is among the busiest in the departmentat the level of patient visits and treatments delivered.Theservice hasdeveloped awide-ranging research portfolio of clinical, translational, and health services studies that examine the role of radiation in the contextof all breast cancer presentations.The service also hasconstructedclinical guidelinesonthe indications for radiation and theoptimaltechniques,acrossthe spectrum of disease risks/presentations.TheBreast Tumor Disease Site Clinician-Investigator will provideclinicalservices for breast cancer patients andengage inresearchactivity advancing the research mission oftheservice,with performance site primarily in theManhattanlocation butpossibly inone of theregionalsites.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Participate inthedevelopment of clinical guidelines for the radiation treatment of patients withprimaryandrecurrentbreasttumorsParticipate in and help leadweeklychart rounds for the service and ensure a high standard of quality for the treatment ofprimaryand recurrentbreasttumorsWork closely with thedepartmentalDisease Site Directortodevelophigh-impactclinical trials that address the unmet needsof and improve outcomes inpatients withprimary breastand recurrenttumorsThe position will involve 3-4 on-site days and 1-2 clinical/administrative days (on site vs. remote).
